Well, it's obviously been a while since my last post. Not much has changed, really. Colin is up to 12 and 3/4 pounds now. He's eating a little more solids than before, and milk by spoon to get him interested in eating again. We are no longer allowed to feed him a bottle, as it will further worsen any oral aversion he already has. Definitely equates that with pain and vomiting. At least he's not totally orally averted! He still has vomiting episodes, but we've recently increased the dosage on his reflux medicine and so far it seems to have helped. Anytime he vomits though, we feed him via tube only since we don't want him to form any more associations between food and vomiting. I'll be honest, it hasn't been easy.
Colin is still working on his sleep pattern, though he's gotten much better (thank goodness). He usually goes down by 7:30 pm and wakes around 6:00 am! This doesn't include us temporarily waking him for diaper changes and feeding tube meals at 9 pm and midnight.
Colin still hasn't figured out how to sit on his own, though he's gotten pretty good at turning over. He is able to go from a lying position to standing when we pull his hands/arms though. And boy can that kid bounce! If you hold him upright and put his feet on your lap or on the floor, he starts bouncing like a crazy man! It's really cute, and he's quick to wear out anyone who endures the Colin-bounce!
Lastly, Colin will go in Sept 15 for his Mic-key button and thus have his feeding tube removed (a Mic-key button replaces the tube, but we still feed him directly into his stomach through the button - just no long tube hanging out anymore). Should be much more functional, though having him go under general again makes us nervous. I'll work on posting updated photos over Labor Day weekend. Have a wonderful and safe 3-day weekend!
