Yesterday was Colin's adjusted due date: 40 weeks. We were originally told that February 14 (Valentine's Day) was his due date. However, when the preganancy started taking a turn for the worse, and the doctors realized that every additional day Colin remained in the womb was critical, they studied her due date more closely and determined that February 12 was actually more accurate. How did Colin celebrate? 4 pounds! That's right, our Chunkies is 4 pounds! Dad is going to have to hit the weights to prepare for the rigors of lugging around our Chunky Monkey ;-) Considering 4 pounds as being his size on his due date gives us something to compare to. Small for his age still, but not so bad!
Our man is back to tearing up the bottles too. For the day, he took the largest total volume to date. Another important note is that he only had 1 bradycardic episode for the day. It occured during a feeding where he choked himself up. His energy levels are obviously higher. In fact, he had a hematology consult yesterday, and the specialist recommended to recheck his labs next Monday since his reticulocyte count was increasing. The general consensus is that Colin's anemia is resolving - we hope!
