My First Oxygen

Well, our little man made it 19 days before needing any supplemental oxygen. Today, they decided to give him just a little (24% vs. 21% room air) for an hour to help him with continued desaturations in his oxygen levels. Nothing significant, and it was probably a little unrealistic that he would make it the entire way without any oxygen. The goal now is to "right the ship" and minimize the amounts that he receives.
He continues to tolerate feedings - over 5 cc's per feeding now - and his weight is at 810 grams, or 1 pound, 13 ounces. Another 100 grams, and our guy will weigh the equivelant of 8 Mickey D Quarter-Pounders!
Tonight, Colin had a couple of firsts too! He's outgrown his blood pressure cuff and graduated to the next size up! He also started sucking on his first paci! That little mouth was working overtime. It was absolutely adorable to watch. And he was holding it in place too! What a smart, smart boy. I just had to get a picture - way too cute. Until next time...

hey rockstar!
SO glad to hear you are doing well! i know you are super smart, but i must recommend, however, that you reconsider your choice of eye doctors...i know first hand that the 2 very best doctors you could ever have are right at the end of your umbilical cord! look no further!...next year, when you are able to read, make sure to check out "acres of diamonds"...its a true story which perfectly describes what YOU have right there at home.

after you come home, i'm sure mommy and daddy will be fighting for which one of them gets to do your yearly exams in the future. my advice is to hold out and see who is going to give you the best deal...use that cuteness as leverage! you SO have them eating out of the palm of your hand!

don't worry about being "alone" during the day while mommy and daddy are at work, because Jesus is right there with you, taking perfect care of you just like He has been all along. so if you get lonely, scared, or overwhelmed by life's craziness, just talk to Him...He's got a great ear to bend! and, He loves you more than you can even comprehend.

speaking of love, i love you very much and i am SO excited to meet you! i want you to take good care of yourself so that you are well-rested for when i come visit...we are gonna party like rockstars!

love from your groupie, aunt celeste **Isaiah 26:3 (NLT)**
